Con’s experience in commercial pharmaceutical sourcing and wholesale distribution helps provide customized solutions for Akesa’s client and supplier network. Prior to founding Akesa, Con has been in the life sciences industry for over 20 years. During his tenure at Symbion (Australia’s largest pharmaceutical wholesaler), he significantly increased sales revenue and market share within the hospital and community pharmacy wholesale sector. In his last role as Group Business Development Manager, Con was heavily involved with pharmaceutical manufacturers offering strategic third party logistics solutions.
Business development has always been a passion for Con, providing the focus required to help Akesa become the APAC supplier of choice for registered pharmaceutical products used in clinical trials.
Chris plays a key role in developing and enhancing our customer and supplier relationships. Prior to joining Akesa over four years ago, Chris worked at Symbion for close to ten years. Commencing in a strategic analytical role across the retail and hospital pharmaceutical supply business, Chris then became the National Hospitals Manager where he developed strong hospital and manufacturer relationships.
Chris’ last three years at Symbion saw him involved in Strategic Business Development roles with the responsibility to develop new business streams which included setting up a clinical trial logistics facility, a specialised in-licensing pharmaceutical company and strategies for in home care.
George’s vast working experience in the clinical trial industry is essential to understanding our client’s requirements. He has been in the pharmaceutical industry for 20 years with specific focus in clinical trials. Commencing his career with Eli Lilly Australia as a CRA then progressing to PPD and lastly IQVIA (known then as Quintiles), where he held the position of Regional Project Manager in the APAC region.
Following many years within the clinical trial industry George joined Symbion (now part of EBOS Group). Whilst at Symbion he was commissioned to develop a clinical trial storage and logistics business unit, Symbion Clinical Trials. He successfully built a greenfield site, a project management team, QMS and implemented close to 100 clinical trials to service clients conducting trials in Australia.
Patrick has various advisory and non-executive director roles working with a range of established and emerging businesses in the healthcare sector. Patrick has held executive management roles in the healthcare industry for over 25 years, having performed successfully in senior roles across many industry sectors including pharmacy, primary care, pharmaceutical and consumer products.
Until March 2018, Patrick was the Chief Executive Officer of EBOS Group Limited, the largest and most diversified Australasian marketer, wholesaler and distributor of pharmaceutical, medical, consumer and animal care products. Over the ten years as CEO of Symbion/EBOS he delivered growth in Group Revenue from less than $2B to approximately $8B through organic growth and targeted strategic expansion establishing the Group as the clear market leading enterprise in the AU/NZ market.
Jacqui brings 15 years’ experience in the pharmaceutical industry to the role of General Manager at Akesa Pharma. Reporting to the Board of Directors, Jacqui’s focus is to ensure all operations of Akesa are achieving business objectives in parallel with customer and supplier expectations.
Her previous role as Regional Head of Clinical Operations APAC at CSL Ltd, she focused on building a team throughout the region, to support the growth in clinical trial activity as well as ensuring continuity of process’ and maintaining quality in the delivery of projects.
With both a passion for supporting global access for effective, safe and affordable pharmaceutical products and business, Jacqui’s role as Akesa General Manager aptly combines the two passions.
Arishma is responsible for Quality Assurance at Akesa, to ensure compliance with global regulations, internal procedures and client expectations. Arishma worked as a registered hospital and community pharmacist for seven years in Australia and Ireland prior to joining World Courier and stepping into the clinical trials supply chain sector.
In her last role as a Regional QA Manager, Arishma was responsible for seven World Courier facilities in Australia, Singapore, Japan, India, China, South Africa and Russia.
As the Finance Manager, Dani brings with her a 20 year career in finance roles spanning multiple industries. As a Chartered Accountant and a certified Project Manager, Dani has been able to draw on this knowledge and help to establish the Akesa Finance team. Outside of work life, Dani loves being a mum to three young boys, travelling and enjoying great food and wine (although, she’d be lying if she didn’t include shopping in the list!).
Halifi completed a Bachelor of Economics & Finance and Masters in Accounting at University of WA. Specialising in the Finance Function of the business he assists Operations and Management, with his strengths in accounting and systems processes. His quiet and stoic nature brings a calmness to the office, but do not let this fool you when needed, Halifi is swift with precision akin to a Japanese bullet train.
Julian completed two science degrees after which he worked as a strength and conditioning coach and also played semi-professional football. Focus comes naturally to Julian in his Account Executive role, assisting clients with their specialised clinical trial project solutions for over two years. Julian is a driven team member with simple loves of his Italian family and food.
Hayley recently joined the dynamic Account Executive team to assist with clinical trial projects after a career of event management in advertising. Her calm nature, focus and positivity collectively derives from her active lifestyle and love of sports. While Hayley brings a sense of British humour to Akesa with a love of puns, she has steely focus having seen her climb Mount Kilimanjaro.
Advisory Pharmacist - BPharm (Hons), GradCert (HSM)
Megan has been part of the Akesa Pharma team since 2016. Her background as a pharmacist and in the health information technology sector allows her to bring a diverse range of expertise to the business. Megan’s passion for low toxic living and healthy homes is always a talking point in the office.
Corporate Development Advisor
Priscilla spent a decade working for one of Australia’s largest property valuation firms, which serviced the risk management needs for mortgage lending institutions. Her primary role was engaging new contracts and ensuring successful service delivery of strict service agreements with many of Australia’s financial institutions and Government Departments. Priscilla brings to Akesa her experience of workflow process for continual business improvement, scalability and premium service delivery to its customers.
Coming from a Human Resources background with one of Australia’s top four banks, Ursi brings her natural intuition of people and out-going personality into her role as an Account Executive. Loving all things nature having grown up on the beach in the Central Coast of NSW, Ursi spends most of her weekends outdoors and patting other people’s dogs.
Rima completed a Bachelor degree in the health science field. In the search to gain commercial experience Rima joined Akesa in a dynamic role assisting the Quality and Finance team, as well as general administration for the Akesa office. Her bright and bubbly personality shines through like her colourful work attire.
